Illamasqua Complement Palette Swatches

Nothing to disclose, I purchased the product shown.  Link is not an affiliate link.

I purchased Illamasqua's Complement palette back in May when they had the 50% off flash sale.  Although I keep telling myself to stop buying palettes, this one always caught my eye, and at 50% off, I figured what the hell.  Regular price is £34.00, but between the sale and a loyalty discount, I paid £15.30, which converts into approx US $22.74.  This palette is also available from Sephora for $46.50.

Here's Illamasqua's stock photo of the palette

The colors are listed on the back of the palette, and they're kind enough to tell us that the color names are clockwise from the top left.  I hate when the shades have names and they're not listed.

Shadows applied with a dampened wet/dry brush except for Focus, which is a liquid metal (cream) formula.  First photo is outside, no flash

Slink is a soft champagne shimmer

Focus (liquid metal) is a cool brown metallic.  Up close, you can see pink shimmer that softens it.

Queen of the Night is a blackened plum

Forgiveness is a rich chocolate plum.  I would call this more chocolate deep berry than plum.

Although I've had this palette for 6 weeks, today's swatches are the first time I've even opened it.  I think a part of me was worried that I'd be let down by yet another palette.  I'm quite pleased with the swatches, and despite my eventual disappointment with almost every other palette I've purchased, I have a really good feeling about this one.  Fingers crossed!

I hope you've found the swatches helpful, and thanks for looking.

    1. I swatched them with a dampened brush - using a dry brush you'd need several layers!

    They're so pretty.

One day I'll own some Illamasqua.
